Filecoin organizes storage through providers and cryptographic proofs. Its official overview distinguishes stored data from the on-chain records of storage arrangements.

Imagine retaining public laboratory videos. Ask who keeps them, how storage commitments are checked, where viewers retrieve them, and what recovery arrangement applies if an access path fails.

These questions differ from application permissions in a personal data space. Even with storage arranged, a journal app must decide who can read private entries and how their data is represented. Using Filecoin does not itself establish user authorization or account portability.
