Are dApps and Blocklets the same thing?
Separate decentralization properties from application packaging and execution.
dApp abbreviates decentralized application. Ethereum documents a common architecture combining smart contracts and a frontend; this does not put every application component on-chain.
Shared state might be on-chain while a server hosts the interface and another service stores records. Evaluate each layer’s control and dependencies.
Relationship to Blocklet
Blocklet describes how application units are organized, composed and run. dApp describes architectural properties of control and dependence. A Blocklet can participate in a dApp without automatically decentralizing it.
ArcBlock’s 2019 article emphasizes identity, assets and data control. It records a design position; distinguish that historical argument from current product capabilities.
