The Decentralized Identity Foundation coordinates engineering work on decentralized identity through specifications, reference implementations and collaboration.
Its Identifiers & Discovery group lists Universal Resolver, a framework with drivers for resolving different DID methods. Universal Registrar addresses creation, updates and deactivation. Those are distinct responsibilities.
DIF is neither a blockchain nor a central issuer for every identity. Distinguish the organization, its groups, a specification’s version and an actual implementation. A project listing does not establish support for every method or a particular standards status.
