What rules does a DID method define?
Methods supply operational rules beneath the shared data model.
DID Core supplies common syntax and a data model. A method defines how its identifiers are created, resolved, updated or deactivated, including supported operations and who can perform them.
An app receiving did needs an implementation that understands that method. Handling another DID does not establish compatible encoding or resolution.
Before choosing a method, ask concrete questions: must creation work offline? Can keys change? How is old state checked? Which network or service is required? A shared wallet interface does not remove a method’s limitations.
