What would looking behind the interface reveal?

Imagine an interface with a task title, an “in progress” status and a completion button. Inspecting its structure should help answer: which node represents the title, where does the status come from, and which operation does the button trigger?

An illustrative investigation would locate the task and its state, activate the button, then check whether the state and its visual representation changed. This describes an observation method. Prepared example data cannot establish the actual result.

Distinguish three kinds of material: a content resource holds content such as text; an AUP tree describes nodes, properties and events; the browser DOM is the rendered webpage structure. They help explain one another, but are not the same tree.

Arc’s UI provider exposes session tree and inspection routes. Browser-specific inspection also requires a connected browser backend. Live inspection must read the active resources and preserve appropriate access boundaries.
