AIGNE DocSmith has released a new beta version 0.9.9 that introduces two new features to improve the multilingual documentation experience:
- Image Localization: Automatic translation of text within images during document internationalization
- Image Refinement: Intelligent image adjustment based on user feedback with image-to-image technology
Main Features#
1. Image Localization#
Previously, when translating documents to other languages text within images remained in the original language.
Now, when you use the localize (or translate) command to translate documents, DocSmith automatically identifies images in your documents and translates the text within them to the target language. The system maintains the original image layout, style, and design while only translating the text labels and annotations.
Usage:
- Translate documents with automatic image translation:
aigne doc localize - Translate only images without translating document content:
aigne doc localize --diagram
The feature automatically syncs translated images across all language versions.
2. Image Refinement with Feedback#
When updating documents you can now provide specific feedback about images, and the system will intelligently adjust them. The refinement process uses image-to-image technology to modify existing images rather than regenerating from scratch to ensure visual consistency.
You can request various modifications such as color adjustments, layout changes, content additions or removals, and style updates. The system understands natural language feedback and applies the changes accordingly.
Usage:
Run aigne doc update and provide your feedback to refine images.
3. Performance Improvements#
This latest beta release also includes optimizations for image processing. Special handling has been applied to images to improve efficiency and significantly reduce token consumption. Lastly, we've also fixed various various bugs and and improved stability to enhance the overall user experience.
