ArcBlock CEO to Give a Keynote at Harness4GenUI, ASE 2026

ArcBlock founder and CEO Robert Mao will give a keynote at the first Harness4GenUI workshop, whose full title is Everything Evolves, Something Endures: The 1st Workshop on Harness Engineering for Generative UI. It is held during ASE 2026, the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering, in Munich, Germany.
The keynote is titled What Endures When Everything Evolves? AFS-UI and the Search for Stable Foundations in Generative UI.
What the workshop is about
Generative UI turns an interface from something written into something produced. That creates an engineering problem: when a screen may come out differently every time, what is still fixed?
Harness4GenUI is about that layer. Not how to make a model produce a nicer screen, but which structures have to hold still around the generated part, without which a system cannot be maintained, tested, or explained.
It is the same problem AUP was built against. AUP describes what an interface means and what it can do first, and lets a runtime present the parts a device supports, precisely so that what an interface expresses stays separable from what it looks like.
Known limitations
- The keynote content is not published. The title is set; the talk is not, and this piece does not stand in for its conclusions.
- Dates and venue are the organizers' to set and can move. This piece deliberately does not state them: see the event page and the conference site.
- We have ideas for meeting people in person while we are in Munich, but nothing is scheduled. Anything that firms up will appear on the event page.
