time: How does time differ from a schedule?

time expresses dates, clocks, countdowns and related time information.

A talk start time, clock or deadline countdown is a reason to examine time. Presentation depends on mode and locale. For a collection of scheduled events, examine calendar; similar visuals do not make their jobs identical.

Start with these properties

mode selects a date display, clock, countdown or another form. value supplies a date for display or picker modes; a countdown uses the separate target property. locale selects regional formatting, not the business event’s time zone.

This is a clock formatted with en-US, with no fixed date or countdown target. Changing the mode to countdown is insufficient on its own: the application must also supply the target instant.
