One question

media: How do you express images, audio and video?

media expresses media kind, source and alternative information.

For a lesson video, consider kind, controls and alternatives as well as its location. Image alt text describes content; autoplay remains subject to browser policies. Distinguish media URL properties from node-level data bindings.

Start with these properties

The top-level type: "media" selects a media node; props.type selects an image, avatar, audio or video. props.src is the media file URL, distinct from a node-level src data-source connection. alt supplies an image description and controls governs audio/video playback controls.

Read a structural example

From the source registry. This is structural reading material, not a live demo; referenced resources and actions require an application.

json
{
  "id": "profile-pic",
  "type": "media",
  "props": {
    "type": "avatar",
    "src": "/img/user.jpg",
    "name": "Alice",
    "alt": "Profile"
  }
}

The example selects an avatar. name: "Alice" can support an initials fallback, while alt supplies alternative text; neither describes account authority. This example does not configure video playback or establish autoplay behavior.

Read the media reference.

Check your understanding

Why provide alt information as well as an image location?

It supplies an alternative description for people who cannot directly see the image.
