Media Kit Now Removes EXIF Data After Image Upload to Improve Privacy
ArcBlock has released an update to its Media Kit. Starting today, Media Kit includes automatic EXIF data removal for images upon upload. This enhancement greatly improves user privacy by ensuring sensitive information embedded in images is securely removed. Alongside this feature, we’ve implemented several updates to improve user experience, address bugs, and boost overall performance.

- Automatic EXIF Data Removal: Media Kit now automatically strips EXIF data from images during upload, protecting sensitive details like camera settings and geolocation. This feature ensures users share only what they intend, enhancing privacy without compromising functionality.

- Fix for Image Paste Upload Issues in Safari: We’ve fixed an issue that prevented seamless image pasting in the uploader for Safari users. This update ensures a smooth and intuitive upload experience across all supported scenarios.

- Database Migration to SQLite: We’ve transitioned from NeDB to SQLite for improved performance and reliability. SQLite’s advanced indexing and transaction management deliver faster, more secure data operations, providing a robust foundation for Media Kit.
