Blocklet Launcher Now Automatically Cancels Uninstalled Launches

The latest update to Blocklet Launcher introduces key enhancements to system stability, application management, and user experience. Notably, it adds automatic cancellation and refund for uninstalled Blocklet Servers, along with several backend improvements that make launching and managing applications more reliable. These changes aim to reduce friction, prevent accidental charges, and provide a smoother, more predictable experience for users.

New Features

  • Automatic Cancellation and Stake returned for Uninstalled Launches: If a user purchases a Blocklet Server but doesn't complete the installation within 24 hours, the subscription will be automatically canceled and the stake returned. This protects users from unnecessary charges and reduces the allocation of idle resources.

  • App Management Dashboard: Introduced a centralized App Management Dashboard to help administrators efficiently browse, search, and manage all applications.

User Experience Improvements

  • Improved Error Handling and Logging: With an emphasis on user feedback, the error handling mechanisms have been refined for better specificity. Users will now receive clearer messages when issues occur, making troubleshooting more straightforward.
  • Optimized Launch List Sorting: The launch list now sorts based on creation time, providing users with a more intuitive look at their applications’ lifecycle. This change helps in quickly identifying the most recent launches.

Bug Fixes

  • Stability of Launch Endpoint: Several fixes have been made to enhance the stability of the launch endpoint, addressing compatibility issues and improving the overall reliability of application launches.
  • Search Functionality in Admin Management: The search functionality in the admin instance management has been corrected to ensure it works effectively. Users can now search for instances and orders without running into errors.
  • Fallback Image Mechanism: The update includes a fallback mechanism for application logos, so if a requested image fails to load, a default image will be displayed instead. This ensures that users always see a visual representation of their applications.

Performance and Reliability Enhancements

  • Database Migration for Subscription Tracking: To better manage subscription statuses, a complete auto-cancellation system has been integrated with database migration. This improvement not only enhances reliability but also ensures smoother operations within the application.
  • Request Timeout for Server Info: A timeout feature has been implemented for requests to server information. This change aims to reduce hang-ups during data retrieval, ensuring a more responsive experience for users.
