ArcBlock is joining AGNTCY, an open-source collective tackling one of AI's biggest headaches: getting agents from different platforms to actually work together. The partnership puts ArcBlock alongside companies like Cisco, LangChain, and MongoDB in building what could become the infrastructure backbone for collaborative AI.
Addressing the Agent Collaboration Challenge#
Right now, building multi-agent systems is like trying to connect incompatible phone networks. Your agent can’t easily talk to someone else’s MongoDB-powered agent, and discovering available agents across organizations is nearly impossible. It’s the early internet problem all over again—brilliant technology trapped in silos.
AGNTCY aims to become the TCP/IP for AI agents, creating open standards so agents can discover each other, authenticate securely, and collaborate—no matter who built them or where they run.
How ArcBlock Plans to Help#
ArcBlock isn’t just another AI company jumping on the agent bandwagon. With a track record in solving identity and interoperability problems at scale, ArcBlock will contribute in three key areas:
- Decentralized Identity: Enabling agents to trust and authenticate across organizations—without everyone using the same login system.
- AIGNE Framework: Leveraging a no-code agent builder and real-world developer insights to bridge AI systems.
- Modular Design: Using Blocklet architecture to show how composable systems can interoperate cleanly.
“The future of agent-based AI depends on breaking down barriers between platforms. By connecting ArcBlock’s AIGNE engine and decentralized identity to AGNTCY’s open ecosystem, we’re enabling secure, collaborative, and truly interoperable agents.” Matt McKinney, Head of Growth at ArcBlock
“We're at an inflection point in AI where the next wave of innovation will come from agents working together. Building this infrastructure as open source ensures it will serve the entire ecosystem, not just individual vendors." - Guillaume De Saint Marc, Vice President of Engineering at Outshift by Cisco
The timing isn't coincidental. As businesses and developers move beyond single-agent demos to complex multi-agent workflows, the lack of interoperability standards is becoming a real bottleneck.
About AGNTCY#
The AGNTCY is a collective of AI industry leaders and stewards, researching, developing and advancing the state of the art in agentic AI based on principles of open innovation and interoperability. The projects focus on open infrastructure, services and specifications to enable inter-agent collaboration in pursuit of driving innovation and value for all, from developers to operators, vendors to customers.
